Good Morning, Due to the timing of the incoming winter storm, all RSU 2 schools will dismiss early today, Tuesday, January 16. All after school activities are cancelled.

Unfortunately, due to no driver availability, there will be no Bus 19, Whitefield/Chelsea Bus today. We apologize for not being able to complete this bus run today.

There will be a 2 hour delay and no morning Pre-K today, Wednesday, January 10, for all RSU 2 schools. We will continue to monitor road conditions and potential power outages. Thank you.

We have openings for Educational Technicians, Payroll Coordinator, an Administrative Assistant, Bus Drivers, Substitute Teachers, Nurses, and Ed Techs, and more. Good Evening. All RSU 2 schools are canceled tomorrow, Thursday, December 20. For the past two days ee have made every effort to get our students back in school. Unfortunately, we are down four bus drivers and cannot provide transportation in Monmouth and the Whitefield run, are short a significant number of teachers and ed techs, and still have a power line hanging over the staff and student parking area at HDHS. We miss our students and were looking forward to seeing them. Our thoughts are with the numerous families that are still dealing with power loss and flooding.

The Board Policy Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 21, has been cancelled.

All RSU 2 schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20. We still have four schools without power, side roads that are impassable or are unsafe for buses, roads that are currently flooded, and staffing challenges. We hope to return to school on Thursday. Stay safe everyone.

There will be a 2 hour delayed start and no morning Pre-K at all RSU 2 schools tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19. The delayed start is due transportation and power infrastructure challenges across our school district. Thank you for your understanding.

Dear Dresden Community, While there is some sense of relief in learning the search is over, we are all deeply saddened by the tragic events of the shootings in Lewiston and the loss of so many innocent lives. Many of us have been directly impacted by this tragedy in one way or another, and my sincerest condolences go out to the families, friends and colleagues of those that have lost a loved one. The safety and wellbeing of our communities remains a top priority. Our district leaders have developed safety protocols and procedures in place for return to school on Monday, which may include a police presence. With the search only recently coming to an end, we must turn our focus to healing. To allow our families and staff an opportunity to prioritize well-being, we will postpone the Board’s initial community gathering that was scheduled for Monday evening, 30 October 2023 at Dresden Elementary School. I have asked team members to work with Dresden community leaders to explore potential dates to reschedule our gathering. I hope to have some options for Board review at our upcoming meeting, on Thursday, November 2, 2023. This tragedy is a reminder that life is both precious and fragile with each day being a gift.
