RSU #2 has received the results for lead tests in DES, HDES, HDMHS, and MA. Each school had faucets with elevated lead levels and faucets within the acceptable range. Faucets with elevated levels are no longer in use and will remain closed until fixed. The faucets with results within the acceptable range are available to use for drinking, cleaning and cooking. There will be lead testing conducted at RMSHS, MBES and MMS this fall. RSU #2 is following all state guidelines related to lead testing and water quality.

This morning at approximately 10:50AM, we were notified of a serious incident occurring in Richmond. There were no direct threats to the schools but out of an abundance of caution, the Richmond Schools were instructed to Shelter in Place. This allows movement within the school but restricts access to the building. Since then we have been informed by the Richmond Police that the situation is contained and we have returned to normal activities. Thank you to the Richmond staff for being prepared and keeping our students safe.
With the opening of school next week this message is to notify parents and students of the recommendations for addressing COVID 19. If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID 19 they must isolate for five days from the onset of symptoms. It is recommended that people who test positive mask for 10 days after the onset of symptoms. If your child tests positive an RSU #2 nurse or building administrator will contact you to review the timeline and provide support. Please continue to support our healthy schools by focusing on healthy habits and keeping your child home anytime they are feeling sick. I wish all of you a great start to the 2022-23 school year.
